The room was excellent, and great value. A large bedroom, well presented, with a balcony (complete with hammock) and impressively large bathroom, complete with a bath. The staff were charming, and helpful, even handing us a large bottle of water for the journey home... they speak French and English, which is great. Breakfast was varied and served in a homely and immaculate dining area and the pousada was clean and well looked after... I would certainly recommend a pousada above a hostel in Brazil, as they are similarly priced but far better value, cleaner and comfortable. Travelling as a young couple, this was an excellent choice, and located about a minute or two stroll from the pedestrianised old town.
